I
began my graduate career in the fall of 2005. I am a volunteer with
the Monterey County Marine Mammal Stranding Network. I have volunteered
with the Dept. of Fish and Game, helping with wildlife necropsies. My
main interests are the physiology and health of marine wildlife. My
thesis project will look at the effects of different health conditions
on hematology and serum chemistries in California sea lions (Zalophus
californianus). This project is in cooperation with the Marine Mammal
Center in Sausilito, CA. I plan to pursue a career in wildlife veterinary
medicine following the completion of my masters degree.
